Base pay range

Job Title: Payroll Assistant (Remote)

Salary: £13.50 – £17.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (Flexible)

Location: Remote – UK Based

Job Description:

We’re hiring on behalf of a well-established client for a Remote Payroll Assistant to support payroll processing, reporting, and employee payment operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with payroll software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll for employees and contractors
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
  • Assist with tax, pension, and NI contributions
  • Respond to payroll queries via email or phone
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and company policies
  • Prepare reports and assist with year-end processes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in payroll administration (1+ year preferred)
  • Familiarity with UK payroll regulations and HMRC guidelines
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. Sage, Xero, BrightPay)
  • Strong Excel and numerical skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Based in the UK with a reliable internet connection
