Job summary

Randstad C&P in Bath is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day site operations for one of our trusted clients. The role is based in Bath with occasional travel to sister sites for joint training and collaborative projects.

You will line-manage an in-house team, communicate with residents daily, supervise health and safety standards, coordinate with subcontractors, and maintain admin records.

Duties

• Direct and line-manage an in-house team of 9 tradespeople and 2 cleaners, taking responsibility for daily task delegation, team performance, and rota coverage.
• Maintain strong, clear communication with residents on a daily, face-to-face basis to support their customer journey and resolve day-to-day enquiries promptly.
• Oversee general site health, safety, and compliance, conducting regular safety checks and upholding key H&S standards across the property.
• Manage in-house, day-to-day minor maintenance and repair tasks while coordinating with third-party subcontractors for larger specialist works.
• Complete essential administrative duties, maintaining accurate tracking sheets, operational reporting, and compliance records.
• Support emergency response procedures and participate in the Duty Manager rota, maintaining operational continuity across the site.

Requirements

• Experience in operations, customer service, or property management with direct experience managing or supervising staff.
• Outstanding face-to-face communication skills and a confident, approachable manner when dealing with residents.
• A proactive, health-and-safety-conscious mindset with a strong attention to operational compliance and record-keeping.
• Practical capability and experience over formal qualifications: reliability, leadership, and drive are what count.
