Job summary

Tameside College in Ashton-under-Lyne is seeking an Assistant MIS Manager (ILR and Compliance) to ensure the accuracy and compliance of learner data. You will work closely with the MIS Manager, lead ILR activities, and support internal audits while guiding MIS colleagues.

The role requires extensive FE MIS/ILR experience and the ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly across teams. A strong eye for detail and reliability is essential.

Assistant MIS Manager (ILR and Compliance)

Salary: £32,618 to £34,741

An exciting opportunity to take the next step in your MIS career and play a key role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and compliance of learner data across Tameside College.

We are looking for an experienced MIS professional to join our team as Assistant MIS Manager (ILR and Compliance).

Here’s the standard bit

Working closely with the MIS Manager, you will take a lead role in the College’s Individualised Learner Record (ILR), funding compliance and internal audit activity. You will provide technical guidance to colleagues across the MIS team, help resolve complex funding and learner record queries, and deputise for the MIS Manager when required. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong FE MIS and ILR experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility and develop their leadership experience.

What you’ll need

We are looking for someone with significant experience of working within Further Education MIS and Student Records, together with a detailed understanding of the ILR and FE funding requirements. You will have experience of maintaining compliance with funding guidance and regulations and of preparing information for internal or external audit. You should also be confident using ILR validation and funding reports to identify issues and ensure the accuracy and completeness of learner data. Just as importantly, you will be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail and be able to communicate complex technical information clearly to colleagues. You will be comfortable working across teams, managing competing deadlines and using your knowledge and judgement to resolve problems.
