Job summary

Boots UK is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a frontline team and shape the customer and patient experience on the shop floor. You’ll balance people, performance and operations, coaching individuals, setting expectations and guiding the store to deliver care and commercial results.

You’ll report to the Store Manager, actively participate in planning and scheduling, and own day-to-day running, audits and stock control. This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact every day.

• Experience leading a team in a customer-facing environment.
• Proven ability to own performance and drive a team to deliver results.
• Inspire and coach others, and manage performance.
• Strong organisational skills including planning rotas and managing absence.
• Commitment to compliance, safety and high operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach your team on the shop floor, modelling great care and strong performance.
• Create a positive team environment and motivate colleagues.
• Line manage through regular conversations, feedback and clear goals.
• Run day-to-day store operations: planning, scheduling, staffing and priorities.
• Maintain high store standards: cleanliness, safety and ease of shopping.
• Own stock availability, cost control and loss prevention.
• Ensure audits, risk assessments and compliance checks are completed.
• Use data and in-store insights to identify opportunities and act.
