Job summary

Heap & Co in Huntingdon is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. You’ll work alongside the Financial Controller, supporting monthly management accounts, reporting packs, journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis to help drive business insight.

Applicants should be part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT) with at least 2 years in finance and strong Excel skills. Aged development and study support are offered, with clear career progression.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a finance environment
• Experience supporting the production of management accounts
• Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualifications
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills; experience using ERP/accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A positive, hands‑on approach with a willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Delivering insightful financial analysis and variance commentary

Working closely with an experienced Financial Controller, you'll gain broad exposure across management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in supporting the monthly reporting cycle while contributing to projects that drive efficiencies and support business growth.

Key responsibilities include:
