Confidential in Huntingdon is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to support the monthly reporting cycle and drive efficiency. You will work with the Financial Controller, gain exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, analysis and process improvements.

The role suits a part-qualified accountant with at least 2 years in finance, pursuing ACCA/CIMA/ACA/AAT, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Provide insightful financial analysis and variance commentary
• Assist with annual audit preparation

Working closely with an experienced Financial Controller, you'll gain broad exposure across management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in supporting the monthly reporting cycle while contributing to projects that drive efficiencies and support business growth.

• Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs


• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments


• Completing balance sheet reconciliations


• Payroll and intercompany reconciliations


• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes


• Delivering insightful financial analysis and variance commentary


• Assisting with annual audit preparation


• Partnering with internal stakeholders across the business


• Contributing to finance transformation, process improvement and cost-saving initiatives

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a proactive attitude and a desire to progress.

• At least 2 years’ experience within a finance environment


• Experience supporting the production of management accounts


• Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualifications


• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills


• Experience using ERP/accounting systems


• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills


• A positive, hands‑on approach with a willingness to learn

• Understanding of Accounting standards.
