Job summary

Housing 21 is seeking an Assistant Local Housing Manager to work closely with the Local Housing Manager to create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for residents living independently in their own homes.

The role involves building relationships, supporting independence, resolving issues, and ensuring high-quality customer service. Experience with older or vulnerable people and knowledge of housing/community services are desirable, with CIH qualifications preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing and numeracy are required.
• Experience with older or vulnerable people, housing or community services is desirable.
• CIH Level 3 or 4 is preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with residents, families and the wider community.
• Support residents to maintain independence and sustain tenancies.
• Listen to residents, understand needs and resolve issues practically.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive community where residents feel valued.
• Assist the Local Housing Manager with day-to-day scheme management.
• Help keep the building safe, secure and well maintained; report issues.
• Help residents reach solutions to issues affecting homes and community.
• Work with colleagues, contractors and community organisations to provide excellent service.
• Deputise for the Local Housing Manager when required.
