Job summary

ROKA Aldwych in London is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Head Sommelier to join our vibrant wine team. You will lead the wine service, mentor staff, and ensure every guest enjoys an impeccable hospitality experience from arrival to departure.

The successful candidate will have Senior Sommelier or Assistant Head Sommelier background in a premium, high-volume setting, with passion for Japanese cuisine and wine.

Qualifications

• Love for hospitality and Japanese cuisine with a passion for exceptional dining experiences.
• Proven experience as a Senior Sommelier or Assistant Head Sommelier in a premium, high-volume restaurant.
• Experience counting stock, deliveries and ordering.
• WSET Level 1 or 2 is desirable; willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Lead the wine service and mentor the wine team.
• Ensure warm, memorable guest experiences from arrival to departure.
• Count stock, manage deliveries and place orders to maintain stock levels.
• Uphold ROKA's high standards and contribute to a world-class wine program.

Please note, this is a standalone role running the wine department, including stock, deliveries and ordering.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Head Sommelier to join our vibrant team at ROKA Aldwych . As a key member of our wine team, you will embody our passion for exceptional hospitality, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm, memorable welcome from the moment they arrive.
