We're looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to join one of our high-performing restaurants in Belfast. With a guaranteed salary of £46,500 plus menu cycle bonuses paid up to eight times per year, there is an opportunity to earn up to £55,000 OTE.

THE ROLE

As Assistant General Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy, premium restaurant. You'll play a key role in delivering outstanding service, developing your team and driving commercial performance while ensuring standards remain consistently high.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who leads from the front, enjoys being on the floor and understands the importance of balancing exceptional hospitality with strong operational results.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the overall running and performance of the restaurant.

• Lead, motivate and develop a large team, creating a positive culture where people can thrive.

• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain consistently high service standards.

• Drive sales, profitability and commercial performance, with a focus on labour costs and operational efficiency.

• Coach and develop managers and team members, supporting succession planning and internal progression.

• Maintain excellent standards across service, food quality, health and safety, and operational compliance.

• Monitor performance against business objectives and identify opportunities to improve results.

• Lead from the front during busy services, setting the standard for hospitality and team engagement.

• Build strong relationships across the business and contribute to the continued success of the wider restaurant group.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a confident and commercially minded hospitality professional who combines strong leadership skills with a genuine passion for great food and service.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager or in a similar senior restaurant management role.

• Experience within a premium restaurant group, high-volume restaurant or quality-led hospitality environment.

• The ability to lead, inspire and develop large teams.

• A hands-on management style and a strong presence on the restaurant floor.

• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of sales, labour costs and profitability.

• Excellent organisation, communication and decision-making skills.

• The confidence to set expectations, manage performance and hold teams accountable.

• A genuine interest in developing people and building a strong team culture.

• The ambition to progress and develop within a growing hospitality business.
