Job summary

Delta Hotels by Marriott Bristol City Centre is recruiting an Assistant Engineering Manager to support the Engineering Manager in maintaining hotel facilities to high standards. The role leads day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring safe, welcoming guest environments and effective team coordination.

The ideal candidate brings hotel/hospitality maintenance experience, strong building services knowledge, and a proactive, organized approach with clear communication across teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experienced engineering professional with hotel/hospitality maintenance background.
• Strong understanding of building services, maintenance and Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineering Manager with day-to-day management of the Engineering and Maintenance operation.
• Supervise allocation and distribution of repair work orders to ensure timely completion.
• Plan, schedule and evaluate preventative maintenance programmes for facilities and equipment.
• Oversee the physical plant including refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
• Inspect and evaluate facilities to identify maintenance needs and arrange repairs or improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, Health & Safety and compliance records.
• Coordinate external services such as painting, repairs and replacements of furnishings/equipment.
• Assist with selecting and ordering engineering equipment and supplies.
• Support staff training in safety procedures.
