Qualifikationen

• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering (preferred)
• Experience in design coordination or assistant design management within construction
• Experience with main contractor is advantageous
• Good understanding of construction methods, design processes and building regulations
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple design packages and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in IT; MS Office; exposure to AutoCAD, Revit or BIM platforms desirable
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problems
• Ability to build strong working relationships with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
• Full UK driving licence

Performance Objectives

• Assisting with the management and coordination of the design process from pre-construction through to completion
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
• Liaising with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
• Supporting the preparation and management of design programmes, ensuring key deadlines are achieved
• Attending and contributing to design team meetings, progress reviews, and site meetings
• Identifying and assisting with the resolution of design queries, clashes, and technical issues
• Ensuring design information is issued accurately and in line with construction programmes
• Supporting the coordination of design information between consultants and specialist subcontractors
• Assisting with design compliance, building regulations, and project specifications
• Working closely with the Design Manager and wider project team to ensure successful project delivery

Person Specification

• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred)
• Previous experience in a design coordination or assistant design management role within construction
• Experience working for a main contractor would be advantageous
• Good understanding of construction methods, design processes, and building regulations
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple design packages and manage competing deadlines
• Proficient IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and exposure to design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM platforms desirable
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
• Ability to build strong working relationships with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Full UK driving licence
