Vertas Group's Bury St Edmunds depot is seeking an assistant depot manager to support the depot manager in running Suffolk County Council passenger transport contracts. The role covers legal compliance for operator and taxi licences, line management of drivers and passenger assistants, and shared responsibility for passenger operations including priory taxi and educational transport work.

The post is 37.5 hours with one weekend in three and potential split shifts.

Qualificações

• Valid PSV licence.
• Enhanced DBS check and Children's Barred List check (where applicable).
• Right to work checks.
• Satisfactory references.
• Occupational health and medical clearance (where applicable).
• Assessment of suitability to work with children.
• Verified qualifications and professional registrations (where applicable).

Responsabilidades

• Ensure legal compliance with the operator and taxi licences held by Vertas.
• Share responsibility with the depot manager for all passenger operations from Bury depot.
• Line manage and coach drivers and passenger assistants.
• Manage the priory taxi and educational transport operations, including attendance.
• Ensure financial targets and business KPIs are met and maintained.
• Hold responsibility for Bury depot standards and requirements.
• Manage health and safety of colleagues, vehicles, public and site.
• Manage conduct and performance in line with company process.
• Ensure training levels are maintained in line with company and DVSA requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
• Lead colleague engagement at the depot.
• Deputise for the depot manager during absence.
