Job summary

Adore Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Assistant Depot Manager / Assistant Transport Manager to join a busy depot in Rainham, Essex. You will support day-to-day operations, lead a small team and ensure a safe, compliant and efficient transport operation.

The role offers a salary up to £38,000 depending on experience, with bonuses on probation and after 12 months, a performance-related scheme, 28 days holiday including bank holidays, a company pension, on-site parking and ongoing

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising teams within transport, logistics or depot operations.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and fleet compliance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management of the depot and transport operation.
• Coordinate vehicle movements, driver schedules and daily job allocations.
• Ensure transport compliance standards are maintained and records kept.
• Assist with fleet maintenance planning and vehicle availability.
• Supervise and support drivers and depot staff to maintain performance and service levels.
• Monitor health & safety procedures and promote best practice across the operation.
• Resolve operational issues and respond to changing customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and operational reports.
• Work with management to improve efficiencies and service delivery.
