Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting an Assistant Chef to join our military catering operation at Vimy Barracks, Catterick Garrison. You will assist with breakfast, lunch and dinner service, support chefs with food production and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.

The role offers £12.71 per hour, 35 hours per week, with some weekend work, plus life assurance, pension, and access to benefits and training opportunities. A DBS check and security clearance are required before starting.

Qualifications

• Kitchen or catering experience desirable
• Passion for food and willingness to develop culinary skills
• Good understanding of food hygiene and food safety standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Assist with breakfast, lunch and dinner meal preparation and cooking
• Support chefs with food production and presentation
• Ensure ingredients are prepared and stored in line with food safety requirements
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchen and prep areas
• Assist with stock control, deliveries and stock rotation
• Follow recipes, portion controls and production schedules
• Complete food safety and due diligence records as required
• Support wider kitchen team during busy service periods
• Adhere to health & safety, food safety and company procedures
