Job summary

Cygnet Fountains is seeking an outstanding Assistant Chef who’s passionate about food and wants to make a difference. You’ll be working part time, 24 hours a week (3 x 8 hour shifts), on a 6 month fixed term contract, at Cygnet Fountains.

You’ll assist the team in preparing balanced meals, handle basic kitchen duties, check deliveries, and maintain strict cleanliness and COSHH compliance. This role suits someone with catering experience, a positive attitude, and good communication who can work

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, preferably in a care setting.
• Positive attitude, good communication, team player.
• Able to work 24 hours per week across 3 shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing balanced, appetising meals.
• Carry out basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils and manage dishware, store properly.
• Check deliveries, stock ordering, store ingredients.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and COSHH compliance.

The individuals we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings.Your Day-to-Day...• Assist the team in the providing balanced, appetising meals• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.You are...• Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member• Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times• An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels• Able to work on your own initiative & under supervision• Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.Why Cygnet?
