Job summary

Cygnet Group in Bury Hudson is seeking an outstanding Catering Assistant who is passionate about food and care. You will work full time (37.5 hours) including some weekends, to create balanced meals for service users in our secure mental health setting.

You will assist in meal prep, handle kitchen duties, maintain hygiene, rotate stock and ensure safe storage of deliveries. You must have food hygiene certification and strong team communication.

Qualifications

• Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting.
• Hold a food hygiene certificate and maintain high personal hygiene standards.
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas and dining room.
• Wash utensils and store them appropriately.
• Rotate stock and handle deliveries safely.
• Maintain personal hygiene in line with Cygnet standards.
• Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
