Job summary

Amey is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join our Advisory team on a permanent basis. You will work under the guidance of experienced surveyors, assisting with surveying solutions across diverse UK projects.

You will help prepare surveys, reports and specifications, participate in building and condition surveys, and support defect diagnosis while ensuring CDM compliance and adherence to Building Regulations. This is a great opportunity to develop expertise in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of surveying theory and principles.
• Knowledge of technical and specification processes in surveying.
• Familiarity with CDM Regulations and risk assessment principles.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering surveying commissions, ensuring standards compliance.
• Support preparation of technical reports, specifications, drawings and documentation.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Assist with building, condition and measured surveys, and asset inspections.
• Support defect diagnosis and remedial work specifications.
• Ensure deliverables progress with supervision and safety requirements.
