Job summary

LBS Builders Merchants Cardiff is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager and help drive day-to-day operations. You will lead a small team, develop staff, and deliver excellent service to customers and suppliers in a busy retail environment.

With strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, you will identify improvements, monitor market trends and help achieve financial targets while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a trade, retail or distribution environment is preferred.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on achieving branch targets.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Organised, adaptable, and solution focused.
• Willingness to take initiative and step up when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support and deputise for the Branch Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Help identify process improvements and implement efficiencies.
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Support sales by advising customers and delivering great service.
• Monitor local market trends and competitor activity.
• Assist with achieving financial targets and profitability.
• Lead the team, staff development, motivation and performance.
