CPJ Recruitment seeks an Assistant Branch Manager for a market-leading builders merchant. You will support the Branch Manager, run day-to-day operations, and deputise in their absence.

The role focuses on driving sales, margin, stock and service standards while building trusted relationships with trade customers. You’ll lead a branch team across the counter, yard and desk with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Previous face to face sales experience, whether field sales, external sales or trade counter based
• Experience of account management and/or business development
• Confident building relationships and engaging with customers at all levels
• Commercially minded with a proactive approach to spotting and winning opportunities
• Excellent attitude, a genuine team player, motivated and driven
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship building skills
• Comfortable taking responsibility and working on your own initiative
• Industry experience is not essential, as full training will be provided

Responsabilités

• Supporting the Branch Manager to run a busy builders merchant branch, and deputising in their absence
• Taking day to day ownership of branch performance, including sales, margin, stock and customer service standards
• Building and developing relationships with trade customers, contractors, housebuilders and local authorities
• Growing existing trade accounts while proactively identifying and winning new business for the branch
• Getting out to visit customers and sites to develop opportunities, from first contact through to completed orders
• Leading, motivating and developing the branch team across the trade counter, yard and sales desk
• Keeping the branch running safely and efficiently, with a firm grip on stock, deliveries and health and safety
• Working alongside an experienced management team who will provide full training, guidance and ongoing development
