Job summary

STARK Group is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to lead our JPS team in St. Peters, Newcastle upon Tyne. You will manage day-to-day branch operations, deliver excellent customer service, and foster strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

A hands-on leader who can motivate staff and uphold Health & Safety standards is essential. Responsibilities include guiding the team, handling orders, stock control, and assisting with deliveries using a 3.5-tonne transit van.

Qualifications

• Experience in a builders’ merchant or building materials supplier is essential.
• Background in sales/marketing or customer-focused environment.
• Strong leadership and ability to run a busy branch with daily operations.
• Hands-on approach with a focus on safety and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the branch team to achieve branch goals.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations and customer orders.
• Deliver excellent customer service to local customers and suppliers.
• Process orders by phone and in person with professionalism.
• Support stock handling, deliveries, and stock accuracy.
• Assist in product knowledge development to drive sales.
