Job summary

Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS), part of STARK Building Materials UK, is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager who is passionate about great service and team leadership. You will support the Branch Manager, supervise colleagues, and help deliver outstanding customer experiences for local customers and suppliers.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, with a benefits package including pension, life assurance, staff discounts and health and wellbeing perks.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a retail or merchant environment is desirable.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service and build relationships.
• Flexibility to support in various branch areas as needed.
• Willingness to train in forklift operation and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as first line support to the Branch Manager and lead the team.
• Provide excellent customer experience with local customers and suppliers.
• Process customer orders by phone and in person.
• Pick items to fulfil orders for collection or delivery.
• Maintain stock levels and conduct regular stock counts.

Hours: 07:30am– 17:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as first line support to the Branch Manager to lead and support the team to deliver success.
• Provide an excellent customer experience, maintaining strong effective relationships with both local customers and suppliers.
• Process customer orders both over the phone and in person
• Pick items to fulfil customer orders ready for collection or delivery.
• Check incoming stock deliveries and put away in appropriate area.
• Getting to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions.
• Develop great relationships with new and existing customers (both face to face and over the phone).
• Maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts.
• Make Health & Safety a priority anddemonstratehow you can keep yourself and others safe at work.

Required Skills and Experience

• A flexible approach to work; happy to support in various departments within the branch.
• Previous experience within a builder’s merchant or with building materials, but not essential.
• Some supervisory experience in a retail or merchant environment.
• Previous forklift experience, although training will be provided.
