Heavy Haul Rail in Swindon is hiring an Assistant Account Manager for a 6-month fixed-term role. You will support customer accounts, prepare reports and manage contracts, working with cross-functional teams to ensure top-notch service.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, advanced Excel abilities, and experience with data and reporting. A proactive, commercial mindset and rail/logistics exposure are valued.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience working with data, reporting and business documentation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach and a desire to develop commercial and customer management expertise.
• Experience in a commercial, customer service, administration, logistics or business support environment.
• Experience within rail, transport or logistics would be advantageous, but it’s not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of customer accounts and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Produce reports, KPI packs and performance insights that help drive commercial decisions.
• Prepare and manage contracts, quotations, service agreements and commercial documentation.
• Coordinate customer meetings, reviews and commercial activities.
• Analyse operational and commercial data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Support billing processes, forecasting, budget reporting and commercial performance tracking.
• Help prepare tenders, proposals and pricing submissions.
• Work closely with colleagues across Operations, Planning and Finance to ensure seamless customer delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement by helping develop more efficient systems, processes and ways of working.
