About Telford STaRS:

A partnership between Inclusion, Aquarius, and Willowdene, Telford STaRS is the first point of contact for issues related to drug or alcohol use in Telford and Wrekin. The service is free, confidential, and caters to both young people (10+) and adults (18+). Currently, we are seeking a flexible individual with a good understanding of the functional model of substance abuse to join our team.

Your Role:

1. Identify and engage with communities, groups, agencies, and individuals to assess alcohol and drug-related harms.
2. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with various agencies.
3. Promote understanding and reduce harm related to substance misuse through advice, training, and interventions.
4. Recognize signs of substance misuse, conduct screening and assessments, and provide appropriate support and referrals.
5. Offer long-term, flexible support tailored to clients' complex needs.
6. Maintain accurate written assessments and records.
7. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a sympathetic approach and experience in providing training.
