Job summary

Rivan Industries is expanding its London HQ in Bermondsey and seeking an Assembly Team Lead to manage a group of Assembly Technicians building state-of-the-art DAC, electrolyser, and methanation systems. You will ensure on-time delivery, quality, and safety across all production activities.

You’ll mentor junior technicians, coordinate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineers, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant factory environment.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years experience in an industrial environment (factory, assembly lines, etc).
• 2-4 years of experience managing technical teams of fitters.
• Ability to report progress accurately to Senior Management.
• Understanding of general safe working practices, and able to disseminate/advice the team.

Responsibilities

Job description

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on Earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

We’re looking for an Assembly Team Lead as we continue to expand into our new 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility in London, and simultaneously deploy our hardware at project sites. This is someone who understands how to effectively manage a group of Assembly Technicians to create and build systems which will change the world. You’ll ensure that the systems are built promptly, and to the highest standards.

The role:

Day to day operational management of technical team to build components/assemblies

• Managing team of Assembly Technicians (Fitters) to ensure components and assemblies are built and tested in a timely manner.
• Use of lifting equipment such as gantry cranes to safely assemble heavy assemblies.
• Quick turnaround of repeat production orders.
• Occasional support of R&D teams with cutting edge builds.

Building of Complex Systems

• Whilst you will be managing a team to build critical systems. This role will require someone who is also experienced in fitting, and can step in when possible.
• This involves assembling our state of the art direct air capture, electrolyser, and methanation reactors into complete, functioning systems.
• Feed design learnings back to the R&D and Manufacturing Engineers to improve future designs

Quality

• Whilst a quality team will inspect and sign off systems before they go out the door. It is critical that systems are inspected before, during, and after builds, to avoid costly re-work.
• This role is the first line of defence, you will instill a culture of quality into your team.

Safety

• Rivan Industries considers safety the utmost importance. It is critical in this role that the operations conducted within the team are to the highest safety standards.
• Safety is every staff member’s responsibility, however this role must offer more senior oversight and mentorship to those working within the factory.

Instructing Maintenance and Upkeep of Production Facilities

• Assembly areas must be maintained to a high, clean standard.
• This is critical for safety, but also to maintain a professional workspace for all.

The role will report directly to the Manufacturing Director.

Core skills:

• 4-8 years experience in an industrial environment (factory, assembly lines, etc)

• £50 - 70k salary depending on experience
