Job summary

Rivan Industries is expanding its London facility and seeking a Test Technician to join the production and R&D testing teams. You will test complex electromechanical production systems, define testing requirements, set up tests, record results, and ensure high safety standards.

You’ll work closely with Quality and Assembly, support R&D equipment testing, contribute throughout the system lifecycle, and benefit from extensive relocation support and private health insurance in a hands-on,

Job description

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. Here’s our manifesto on how we plan to do it. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

We’re looking for a Test Technician as we continue to expand into our new 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility in London, and simultaneously deploy our hardware at project sites. This is someone who understands how to test complex systems using a wide range of different tools and equipment. You’ll ensure that the systems are tested promptly and accurately, and to the highest standards.

The role:

Testing of Complex Electromechanical ProductionSystems

• Our plan is to ship a high quantity of complex systems, to achieve that whilst maintaining top quality, this role will be involved in helping define testing requirements, setting up, testing, and recording test information.
• Testing of mechanical, electrical, and pressure systems once they have been manufactured.
• Cross team communication with the Quality, and Assembly departments.

Assistance In Build and Testing of R&D Equipment

• Occasional support will be provided to R&D teams to build the next generation of synthetic gas producing systems.
• The role is predominantly production based, however the opportunity to be involved in varied work will occur during Rivan R&D cycles.
• R&D testing will typically require similar skills to the production system, but will be much more varied work as projects progress.

Product Involvement from Conception Through to Finished System

• You will provide input throughout the systems lifecycle relating to testing, this relates to the design phase where engineers will need guidance, through to test rig testing, production manufacturing, and field deployed systems.

Safety

• Rivan Industries considers safety the utmost importance. It is critical in this role that the operations conducted within the team are to the highest safety standards conducted safely.
• Safety is every staff member’s responsibility, however during testing of hazardous systems such as pressure vessels. Safety must be held to the highest standards.

The role will report directly to the Assembly Team Lead.

Core skills:

• 2-5 years experience testing in an industrial environment (factory, assembly lines, etc)
• Experience of both testing industrial hardware, and providing input into test practices during system design
• Solid understanding of electromechanical systems
• Understanding of general safe working practices, ensuring safety is maintained

• £40 - 50k salary depending on experience
