Job summary

Rivan Industries is seeking a Production Engineer for our new 60,000 sq ft facility in London. You will design production lines, provide DFMA input to R&D, and drive manufacturing output improvements while integrating with our off-grid, modular factory setup.

You’ll collaborate through the product lifecycle, optimise processes, and monitor OEE as production scales. In-person HQ role with generous relocation support, share options, private health insurance, and unlimited time-off.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a production engineer or similar role.
• Deep understanding of industrial manufacturing processes (welding, machining, laser cutting, assembly).
• Ability and proven experience designing manufacturing lines.
• Excels at working throughout the product lifecycle to help steer design for manufacture and assembly.
• Proven track record of manufacturing process improvement.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems operation and development.

Responsibilities

• Designing of Manufacturing Production Lines and high level factory material flow for efficient operation.
• Provide DFMA input to R&D engineers to ensure manufacturability and cost optimisation.
• Collaborate across the product lifecycle from R&D design to field deployment.
• Monitor equipment and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) as the ramp-up occurs.

Job description

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on Earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

We’re looking for a Production Engineer as we continue to expand into our new 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility in London, and simultaneously deploy our hardware at project sites. This is someone who understands how complex electro-mechanical systems are manufactured, from raw material, to finished systems. You’ll be responsible for designing production lines, providing DFMA input, managing day to day manufacturing operational issues, and continually improving manufacturing output.

The role:

Designing of Manufacturing Production Lines

• Our systems are always being improved. We need a Production Engineer who can design production stations, and high level factory material flow for efficient operation.
• We operate with high flexibility. If an existing configuration is not optimal, we need someone with agency who will flag, and provide a better alternative.

Working with R&D Teams on Design for Manufacture & Assembly

• It’s critical that design input and feedback is provided to R&D engineers via DFMA, to ensure that designs can be manufactured, and that they are optimised for cost.
• Collaboration throughout the product lifecycle, from R&D design, all of the way through to field deployment.
• Value Engineering will be a core part of these assessments, to ensure that we can provide the cheapest synthetic gas in the world.

Equipment/Workstation Monitoring and OEE

• As we ramp up production, bottlenecks and constraints will appear.
• An important part of this role is that workstation, and equipment overall equipment effectiveness is assessed, and implemented.

The role will report directly to the Production Team Lead.

Specifics:

• £50 - 70k salary depending on experience
