Job summary

Rivan Industries in London is expanding its 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility and seeks an Assembly Team Lead to mentor Assembly Technicians and ensure timely, high-quality builds of DAC, electrolyser, and methanation systems.

You will work hands-on at the Bermondsey HQ, using cranes and upholding a strong safety culture. The role offers significant share options, relocation support (£6000/year), private health insurance, and unlimited time off.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in an industrial environment (factory, assembly lines, etc).
• 2–4 years of experience managing technical teams of fitters.
• Ability to report progress accurately to Senior Management.
• Understanding of general safe working practices and how to disseminate them to the team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the technical team to build components/assemblies.
• Manage Assembly Technicians to ensure components and assemblies are built and tested in a timely manner.
• Use lifting equipment such as gantry cranes to safely assemble heavy assemblies.
• Support quick turnaround of repeat production orders.
• Occasional support of R&D teams with cutting-edge builds.
• Involve in assembling state-of-the-art direct air capture, electrolyser, and methanation reactors.
• Feed design learnings back to R&D and Manufacturing Engineers to improve future designs.
• Report progress to Senior Management and Manufacturing Director.
• Instruct maintenance and upkeep of production facilities.
• Maintain assembly areas to a high, clean standard for safety and professionalism.

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on Earth by keeping the CO_2 locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We've recently deployed the UK's largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to expand this scale significantly in the next 2 years.

Job Description

We're looking for an Assembly Team Lead as we continue to expand into our new 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility in London, and simultaneously deploy our hardware at project sites. This is someone who understands how to effectively manage a group of Assembly Technicians to create and build systems which will change the world. You'll ensure that the systems are built promptly, and to the highest standards.

The role:

• Day to day operational management: of technical team to build components/assemblies


• Managing team of Assembly Technicians (Fitters) to ensure components and assemblies are built and tested in a timely manner.


• Use of lifting equipment such as gantry cranes to safely assemble heavy assemblies.


• Quick turnaround of repeat production orders.


• Occasional support of R&D teams with cutting edge builds.


• Building of complex systems:




• Assembler will be involved in assembling our state-of-the-art direct air capture, electrolyser, and methanation reactors into complete, functioning systems.


• Feed design learnings back to the R&D and Manufacturing Engineers to improve future designs.

Quality:

Whilst a quality team will inspect and sign off systems before they go out, it is critical that systems are inspected before, during, and after builds to avoid costly re-work. You will be the first line of defence, instilling a culture of quality within your team.

Safety:

Rivan Industries considers safety the utmost importance. The role requires ensuring all operations within the team adhere to the highest safety standards. Safety is everyone's responsibility, but this role offers senior oversight and mentorship to team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

Reporting:

The role reports directly to the Manufacturing Director.

Core Skills:

• 4-8 years of experience in an industrial environment (factory, assembly lines, etc)

• Understanding of general safe working practices, and the ability to advise and disseminate to the team

Specifics:

• £50 - 70k salary depending on experience


• In-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South London
