Job summary

GSL Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a primary school in Totton. Role is full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a pay rate of £14.24 per hour, offering classroom-based experience and opportunities to develop teaching-related skills.

The successful applicant will support students with additional needs, deliver interventions, and collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to drive progress and positive behaviours.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or within education is desirable.
• Transferable skills (youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, support work) will be considered.
• Patient, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy supporting students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs.
• Provide in-class support across a range of subjects.
• Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions.
• Encourage confidence, engagement and positive behaviour for learning.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to support progress.
