Job summary

GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated full-time Learning Support Assistant for a Plymouth primary school. The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with pay at £14.24 per hour.

You will support students with diverse needs and help them achieve academically and personally in a welcoming school environment. This position offers hands-on classroom experience for those aiming to become teachers, with opportunities to work alongside the SEN team and teaching staff to monitor progress and

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or within education is desirable
• Transferable skills (youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, support work etc.) will also be considered
• Patient, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy supporting students
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs
• Providing in-class support across a range of subjects
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions
• Encouraging confidence, engagement and positive behaviour for learning
• Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to support progress
