Job summary

A Croydon secondary school is seeking a confident and ambitious Science Graduate to join their team as an Academic Mentor from October 2026, providing valuable hands-on classroom experience while preparing for future teacher training.

You will support Year 7 and Year 11 students in Science lessons, work with experienced teachers across KS3 and KS4, and help pupils develop subject knowledge, confidence and attainment in a collaborative department.

Qualifications

• Holds a degree in Science or a related subject from a leading UK university.
• Has excellent Science subject knowledge and a genuine love of the subject.
• Is confident communicating complex scientific concepts to others.
• Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
• Can inspire and motivate students of different abilities.
• Has a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
