Randstad Education is recruiting a dedicated Teacher of Science for a leading secondary academy in Brent, starting January 2027. You will teach general Science across KS3 and your specialist discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) at KS4 GCSE level. Youll join a supportive team with modern laboratories and dedicated technician support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding, safety:conscious practical and theoretical Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Differentiate learning activities to cater to pupils of all abilities, ensuring equal opportunity for academic growth.
- Maintain rigorous standards of lab safety and follow strict health and safety guidelines during practical work.
- Utilise diagnostic assessment tools to monitor student progress and implement effective revision strategies ahead of national assessments.
- Contribute to STEM enrichment initiatives, science fairs, and educational field trips.
- Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues to refine schemes of work and share innovative pedagogy.
Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A degree in a scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related STEM subjects).
- Strong practical skills and up:to:date knowledge of the secondary Science curriculum.
- Passion for making complex scientific concepts accessible, relatable, and exciting to young learners.
- Strong classroom management and a commitment to maintaining high standards of pupil behaviour.
