Job summary

Step Into Teaching is recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students across a mainstream secondary school in Hinckley, Leicestershire. You will help learners access the curriculum, build confidence and raise attainment as part of a supportive team.

Ideal graduates have a degree in any subject, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in education. Previous experience with young people is desirable but not essential, with DBS checks required.

Responsibilities

• Support students in the classroom across a range of subjects.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support where required.
• Help students overcome barriers to learning and improve their academic attainment.
• Support students with additional needs to access the curriculum.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions and support learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, independence and engagement.
• Build strong relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
