Job summary

The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join the Pharmacy Technical Service team. The role focuses on aseptic preparation of medicines, stock management, and supporting day case units to ensure high standards of patient care.

Candidates should have or be eligible to work towards an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services. The role emphasizes teamwork, ability to work under pressure, and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Evidence of good literacy and numeracy skills.
• NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent training.
• Grade C/4 (or functional skills level 2) in maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and sanitise products for aseptic preparation.
• Aseptically prepare chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, parenteral nutrition and CIVAS.
• Dispense Ready to Administer 'Specials' products.
• Check prescriptions and confirm patient details.
• Record stock control and prescription data using paper and the Pharmacy Information System (PIS).
• Liaise with Procurement about urgently required medicines and inform on supply issues.
• Organise delivery of medicines off site and take phone messages for staff.
