Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician/Specialist Technician to join its Technical Services department. The role focuses on aseptic handling, patient-focused service delivery, and development of cancer and chemotherapy services within the Trust.

The post involves lead responsibilities, mentoring junior staff, and close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient operations and adherence to QA and GMP standards

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital pharmacy production unit preferred.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to support training and development within the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with workload and workflow for sterile cytotoxic reconstitution in the technical services unit.
• Coordinate with chemotherapy day unit staff to support workflow.
• Generate reports on unit performance including dispensing errors and incidents.
• Assist with departmental drug expenditure system for cancer services.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff including PTPTs with induction and appraisal.
• Assist with staff deployment including rotas and annual leave approvals.
• Support HR matters for technicians and assistants in Technical Services.
• Ensure induction, ongoing training and GMP compliance for dispensing and compounding.
