Job summary

Senploy is assisting a Greenwich secondary SEN school in recruiting an ASD Teaching Assistant to support a high needs class of 6-10 pupils, many of whom are non-verbal and require specialist communication support.

The role involves working with Makaton, PECS or other ASD approaches, collaborating with a small team to help pupils access learning, regulate sensory and emotional needs, and develop independence throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience using Makaton, PECS or other recognised ASD approaches to support communication.
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Support approximately 6-10 pupils, many non-verbal, with communication and learning.
• Help pupils access learning and develop communication skills.
• Support sensory regulation and day-to-day development within a classroom team.
