Job summary

Kent Teaching Solutions Ltd. is seeking an ASD Learning Support Assistant to help pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder thrive within an inclusive UK school. You will create a structured, nurturing environment where learners feel safe and encouraged to reach their potential.

You will work 1:1 or with small groups, adapting activities to meet individual needs and using autism-friendly approaches to promote participation and progress. Training and support will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with ASD or SEND.
• Calm, patient and compassionate nature.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of autism and strategies to support communication and behaviour.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Support students with ASD in accessing the learning activities and curriculum.
• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Encourage communication, engagement and positive social interaction.
• Assist students with emotional regulation and sensory needs using appropriate strategies.
• Implement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour management.
