Job summary

Kent Teaching Solutions Ltd. is seeking an ASD Learning Support Assistant to help pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder thrive academically and personally.

You will create a calm, inclusive classroom environment, supporting learning activities and applying autism-friendly approaches to encourage participation. You may work 1:1 or in small groups, adapting tasks to meet individual needs, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families to promote confidence and

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with ASD/SEND in school or similar settings.
• Calm, patient and compassionate nature.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with ASD in accessing learning activities and the wider curriculum.
• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to individual learning needs.
• Encourage communication, engagement and positive social interaction.
• Assist students with emotional regulation and sensory needs using appropriate strategies.
• Implement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour management techniques.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt resources and activities to support different learning styles and abilities.
• Support students during break times, visits and enrichment activities.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote independence, self-esteem and confidence in all learners.
