Penguin Recruitment Ltd are partnering with an established asbestos and environmental consultancy to recruit an experienced Asbestos Surveyor for Basildon and the wider Essex region.

The role offers a varied workload across commercial, industrial, domestic, and public sector properties, with regional coverage and ongoing professional development within a supportive, technically focused team.

Qualifications

• BOHS P402 qualification required.
• Previous experience as an Asbestos Surveyor.
• Strong knowledge of HSG264 and asbestos legislation.
• Experience with Management and R&D asbestos surveys.
• Experience in UKAS-accredited consultancy desirable.
• Confident to work independently in the field.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys per HSG264.
• Conduct bulk asbestos sampling across property types.
• Produce accurate, detailed and compliant survey reports.
• Work across commercial, industrial, domestic and public sector properties.
• Manage your own diary and workload effectively.
• Travel across Basildon, Essex and surrounding areas.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and site representatives.
• Maintain accurate electronic survey records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance and company procedures.

The Role

About You

• BOHS P402 qualification (essential)
• Previous experience working as an Asbestos Surveyor
• Strong understanding of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation
• Experience carrying out Management and R&D asbestos surveys
• Experience working within a UKAS-accredited consultancy is desirable
• Confident working independently in a field-based position
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Professional, organised, and reliable approach to work
