Job summary

Ocado Logistics is hiring an Area Manager at Erith to lead, motivate and support an operational team while upholding top health & safety standards. You will drive engagement, manage daily operations, and report KPI metrics across a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities include delivering briefings, handling escalations, and supporting other sites as needed. The role requires weekend shifts and extended standing, with training in Mechanical Handling Equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience and knowledge of best practice Health & Safety ways of working.
• Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills, used to working with and interpreting large volumes of data.
• Strong performance management knowledge and practical experience of conducting disciplinary & grievance investigations.
• Working knowledge of computerised warehouse management systems and core operating reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate operational teams to ensure safety, welfare and conduct.
• Deliver pre-shift briefings and report on KPI metrics.
• Support other sites as needed in a 24/7 environment.
• Undertake tiered management/personal shopper tasks as required.
