Job summary

Ocado Logistics in Erith is seeking an Area Manager to lead and motivate a 24/7 operational team, ensuring safety, KPI delivery, and high standards of performance. You will drive continuous improvement and employee engagement in a fast-paced warehousing environment with day or night shifts.

The role requires strong people management skills, experience with safety practices, and familiarity with data reporting tools to monitor labour turnover and absence. A proactive, hands-on leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience and knowledge of Health & Safety best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills.
• Experience with disciplinary and grievance investigations.
• Knowledge of data reporting tools and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate teams in a time-sensitive operational environment with a focus on safety and welfare.
• Promote a positive safety culture and conduct detailed investigations of adverse events.
• Maintain an exceptional employee experience, drive training and coaching, and manage key people KPIs like labour turnover and absence.
• Contribute to performance improvement, maintain housekeeping, and ensure adherence to food safety mechanisms.
• Manage daily operations, deliver pre-shift briefings, and report on area KPIs.
