Job summary

Peabody Community Foundation is seeking an Area Manager for North Counties to lead a team of Community Managers across Later Living communities. The role focuses on delivering high-quality housing management, customer service and safety, with regular travel between our Houghton Regis and Reading offices.

You will drive performance against KPIs, manage budgets and collaborate with Peabody colleagues to improve services for homeowners and residents.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams within housing or a similar customer-focused environment.
• Strong housing management experience across homeownership, leasehold, freehold or specialist housing services.
• Strong financial management skills including budgets, service charges and reserve funds.
• Knowledge of homeownership legislation, regulatory requirements and landlord responsibilities.
• Experience delivering service improvements and managing operational performance.
• Experience managing health and safety compliance within residential housing environments.

Homeownership Area Manager - North Counties

Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and creating thriving Later Living Communities?

We're looking for an Area Manager to lead a team of Community Managers across our North Counties region and play a key role in delivering high-quality housing management services to our homeowners and residents. This is an exciting opportunity to lead from the front, driving operational performance, customer satisfaction and service improvement across our Later Living communities. You'll provide leadership, direction and support to a dispersed team, ensuring residents live in safe, welcoming communities and receive a consistently excellent service.

This role is based within our North Counties region and can be based from either our Houghton Regis or Reading office, depending on the successful candidate's location. As a visible operational leader, you'll regularly travel to communities across the region to support colleagues and residents.

What you'll be doing

• Leading, developing and supporting a team of Community Managers to deliver outstanding housing management services.
• Driving performance against key performance indicators and implementing improvement plans where required.
• Ensuring a seamless service across homeownership management, community management, anti-social behaviour, complaints and community engagement.
• Providing housing operations and homeownership expertise, using your knowledge of leasehold legislation, regulatory standards and best practice to support decision-making.
• Managing budgets, service charges and reserve funds effectively.
• Ensuring communities are maintained to a high standard through regular inspections and walkabouts.
• Leading on health and safety compliance, including fire safety, legionella management and lone working procedures.
• Working collaboratively across Peabody to improve services and deliver positive outcomes for customers.
• Leading service improvement projects and contributing to the ongoing development of Later Living Services.

What you'll need

• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams within housing or a similar customer-focused environment.
• Strong housing management experience, ideally within homeownership, leasehold, freehold or specialist housing services.
• Strong financial management skills, including experience of managing budgets, service charges and reserve funds.
• Knowledge of homeownership legislation, regulatory requirements and landlord responsibilities.
• Experience managing operational performance and delivering service improvements.
• Experience managing health and safety compliance within residential housing environments.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• A housing-related qualification such as CIH, or equivalent experience, is desirable.
