Job Title: Area Maintenance Manager (Retail FM)

Location: Thames and London City

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £47,200 - £52,500 per annum + 11-15% LWA (depending on experience) + Car / Car Allowance of £5,700 + Annual Bonus

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Area Maintenance Manager to join our team, working with a major UK retail client.

In this role, you will lead a mobile technical team, ensuring effective delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance services. You will foster strong client relationships, maintain excellent communication, and ensure our service meets expectations.

You will manage technicians and client interactions, ensuring a customer-focused approach that builds trust and long-term partnerships. Service delivery must comply with all legislative and regulatory standards, as well as service levels.

You will oversee compliance audits, take corrective actions when needed, support training, and drive operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver Outstanding Customer Service: Ensure site coverage 24/7, 365 days, providing reactive and planned maintenance that meets client expectations.
2. Client-Focused Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
3. Technical Support & Team Development: Provide guidance, coaching, and support to the mobile engineering team.
4. Resource Management: Ensure tools and equipment are available for efficient maintenance work.
5. Support & Leadership: Assist the Divisional Operations Manager with technical, personnel, and FM issues.
6. Operational Continuity: Cover for the Operations Manager as needed, ensuring service consistency.
7. Budget & Financial Management: Oversee expenditure, ensure compliance with spend authority, and identify growth opportunities.
8. People Management: Lead recruitment, training, appraisals, and ensure team compliance and performance standards.

• Flexible and available/out of hours as needed
• Full driving license
