Job summary

Stantec is seeking aquatic ecologists to join the Freshwater Aquatic Ecology Team in the UK and Ireland. Roles span Consultant to Senior Principal, offering opportunities to develop technical expertise, influence project direction and mentor others.

You will work on nationally significant projects, collaborating with ecology, hydrology, and engineering specialists to protect and enhance freshwater environments while supporting sustainable development.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting freshwater surveys and interpreting results.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and planning policy applicable to UK jurisdictions.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly in reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver freshwater ecological assessments for diverse projects across the UK and Ireland.
• Lead data collection, quality assurance and technical reporting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to inform planning and environmental statements.
• Support mentoring and capability development within the team.
