Job summary

Stantec is seeking aquatic ecology professionals to join its Freshwater Aquatic Ecology Team in the UK and Ireland. The role spans from Consultant to Senior Principal grades, with opportunities to shape technical capability and project delivery across a diverse portfolio.

You’ll work on nationally significant projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help protect and enhance freshwater environments while supporting growth and professional development within the team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aquatic Ecology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Fisheries Science or related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (CIEEM, IFM, CIWEM) with chartered status desirable.
• Experience undertaking freshwater ecological surveys and assessments.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in freshwater ecology areas (fish, macrophytes, macroinvertebrates, diatoms).
• Ability to prepare technical reports and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a portfolio of freshwater ecology projects across the UK and Ireland.
• Deliver ecological surveys, assessments and reporting.
• Support project delivery, client relationships and technical guidance.
