Stantec is expanding its Freshwater Aquatic Ecology Team across the UK and Ireland. We are seeking aquatic ecologists at Consultant to Senior Principal levels who want to develop technical expertise and influence service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aquatic Ecology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• Membership in a relevant body (e.g. CIEEM/CIWEM) desirable.
• Experience in freshwater surveys and assessments.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and planning policy.
• Experience in freshwater ecology areas (fish, macrophytes, macroinvertebrates, diatoms).
• Ability to prepare technical reports and communicate science clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work on freshwater ecology projects across the UK and Ireland.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver environmental assessments.
• Contribute to planning, survey design, and monitoring from inception to delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring where appropriate (senior roles).
• Support business development and client relationships.
