Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks aquatic ecology professionals to work on freshwater projects across the UK and Ireland, from consultancy to senior roles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aquatic Ecology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Fisheries Science or related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIEEM, IFM or CIWEM), chartered status desirable for senior roles.
• Experience undertaking, managing or interpreting freshwater ecological surveys and assessments.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, planning policy and regulatory frameworks applicable to the jurisdictions in which you work.
• Experience in freshwater ecology areas such as fish, macrophyte, macroinvertebrate or diatom work.
• Hydroecology, environmental flows and river restoration knowledge.
• Ability to undertake technical reporting and communicate scientific information clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; contribute to project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver freshwater aquatic ecology expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects.
• Collaborate with ecology, hydrology, hydrogeology, geomorphology, hydraulic modelling and engineering teams.
• Contribute to environmental assessments and long-term monitoring.
• Support business development and client relationships.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring where appropriate.
