Peel Park Primary School in Bradford is seeking a Level 3 Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support learning for pupils with SEND, under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo. The program combines classroom practice with a recognised apprenticeship.

The role runs term-time only, 35 hours per week, with a dedicated mentor and one day per week with the training provider Birth to 19 Apprenticeship Academy.

Qualificações

• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Understanding of strategies for ASD, SEMH or communication needs.
• Awareness of EHCPs, interventions or inclusive education practice.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, including cognition and learning, ASD, SEMH and speech and language needs.
• Adapt activities and resources, breaking tasks down to build understanding and independence.
• Work with the teacher to deliver personalised provision, EHCP targets and small group or 1:1 interventions.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour using agreed strategies and behaviour plans.
• Support communication and social interaction using visual supports, prompts and simplified language.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and structured classroom environment.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and intimate care policies, including personal care where required.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo, external professionals and families.
• Record pupil progress, support assessment and feed back to the teacher.
• Complete the Teaching Assistant apprenticeship, applying your training in daily practice.
• Supervise pupils at break, lunchtime and on school trips.
