Job summary

Engage Education is working with Rochdale secondary schools to fill an Apprentice SEN Assistant role for the 2026/27 academic year. The position involves providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, fostering a warm classroom environment and building strong rapport with learners.

Applicants should be outgoing with an interest in teaching; 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply. DBS on update service is desirable but not mandatory; role starts September 2026 and offers potential

Apprentice SEN Assistant - Role Information:

• Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 & small group support for children with SEN
• Creating warm and inspiring atmosphere for children throughout school day
• Creating and sustaining meaningful rapport with students
• Communicating with colleagues and reporting to school SENCO
• Located in one Rochdale secondary school for full academic year

Apprentice SEN Assistant - Benefits:

• Paid £60 - £75 per day during term time
• Paid throughout the holiday periods
• Monday to Friday role from September 2026 to July 2027
• FREE online CPD courses across array of subjects
• Guaranteed TA qualification pending completion of 11 month course
• Option to join school permanently pending course completion
