Job summary

WH Scott Group in Wickwar is offering a Radio Remote Control Apprentice position alongside our senior technicians. You will gain structured on-the-job training, diagnosing faults, repairing electrical and mechanical systems, and learning to test and troubleshoot equipment with specialist tools.

The apprenticeship provides formal training through CITY OF BRISTOL COLLEGE, with a working week from 8:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, and a clear path to progression upon completion.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
• Willingness to learn engineering maintenance techniques.
• Ability to follow drawings, manuals and repair procedures.
• Good communication and team-working abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing faults and repairs under supervision.
• Learn to test, inspect and troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools.
• Gain experience with digital control systems and electrical principles.
• Follow engineering drawings and procedures to complete repairs to a high standard.
• Support preventative maintenance and ensure safety standards are met.
• Apply Health & Safety procedures in an engineering environment.
• Maintain service records and repair documentation.
• Develop customer service and communication skills within a professional team.
