Job summary

Impact Futures is offering an Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant role in Luton. You will support daily pharmacy operations while completing your Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship framework, under the supervision of registered pharmacists.

The programme includes dispensing support, stock management, customer service, and NHS prescription processing. Training is provided, with at least 20% of hours spent on study and coursework. This is a full-time apprenticeship located in-person in Luton.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and complete the Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship programme.
• Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
• Essential attitude: caring and empathetic towards customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing and preparing medicines following SOPs and prescriptions.
• Support NHS and private prescription processing and monthly NHS submissions where required.
• Provide high standards of customer service and health advice under supervision of pharmacists.
• Handle stock deliveries, storage, expiry checks, and stock control activities.
• Help with Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS) and care home services as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and security in retail and dispensary areas.
